The perfect solution when looking to cost-effectively improve the performance and aesthetics of your building envelope.

Omni Block: Next Gen CMU

1. Higher Thermal Performance & Unparalleled R-Value.

  • 8″ block = R-20.2 (U=0.049) rating
  • 12″ block = R-29.9 (U=0.033) rating

2. Unprecedented sound and fire resistant characteristics
3. All the colors and finishes you expect from Westbrook Block

Excellent insulation & thermal performance

Omni Block allows insulation inserts in Grouted/reinforced cells which amounts to 15% more insulation over traditional insulation insert or foam. The overlapping internal insulation inserts reduces thermal transmittance through the mortar joint an improvement over traditional pre-insulated units.

12″ Block Design

  • 11 5/8″ x 7 5/8″ x 15 5/8″ standard concrete masonry unit (CMU)
  • No direct cross webs
  • Thermal path extended to 24″
  • Offset and constricted cross webs and a middle lineal wall create cells
  • Cells are individually filled with uniformly molded EPS insulation
  • Small cells may be required to be filled with rebar and grout
  • Four layers of thermal mass and three layers of insulation

8″ Block Design

  • 7 5/8″ x 7 5/8″ x 15 5/8″ standard concrete masonry unit (CMU)
  • No direct cross webs
  • Thermal path extended to 14″
  • Offset and constricted cross webs and a middle lineal wall create cells
  • Cells are individually filled with uniformly molded Expanded Polystyrene insulation inserts
  • Small cell may be required to be filled with rebar and grout

Insulation Inserts

  • Uniformly molded Expanded Polystyrene
  • R-4 per inch at 1 lb. density
  • Recyclable
  • Non-toxic
  • CFC free
  • No “out gassing”
  • No Formaldehyde
  • Fluted for moisture migration
  • Strategically notched so that when inserted into a block course there is no interference with mortar

Exceptionally sound-resistant

Omni bBlock is exceptionally sound-resistant, achieving an STC rating of 46, exceeding the highest New York City sound code requirements.

The test results from ASTM E-90 Sound Transmission, performed by Architectural Testing, specifically the Outdoor-to-Indoor Transmission Class (OITC) achieved a rating of 42. To put this rating in perspective, New York City sound code has three levels: up to 30, 31 to 35, and the highest level 36 to 40. Omni Block surpasses the highest sound level code requirement for Outdoor-to-Indoor Transmission Class.

Extreme fire resistance

The 12x8x16 Omni Block has a stunning 4 hour fire-resistant rating. ACI 216.1-97 / TMS 0216.1-97 Standard Method of Determining Fire Resistance of Concrete and Masonry Assemblies:

Lower construction costs

Omni Block will Lower the Costs of Construction and Maintenance Costs. Omni Block construction costs approximately 15% LESS (see below) than standard concrete block, furred-out, insulated and sheetrocked. While the R-Value of Omni Block is approximately 25% MORE than the CMU wall assembly. The resource for the table below is from a national construction management firm. Note that in some regions the Omni Block individual block price may be higher than this illustration, but then too, the price of standard block would be higher as well.

In addition to costing less, the elimination of the furring and sheetrock provides additional livable square footage and the block does not mold, burn, dehydrate, or attract termites, lowering maintenance costs. Lastly our Omni Block will increases interior space by eliminating the need for additional walls.

Lastly, your team will enjoy standard masonry practices for installation. We offer the convenience of half-height units available.

Custom architectural finishes available: Ground Face, Decro-Face Split Face, Smooth Face & Polished Face Textured – in 300+ different colors
